Midsouth Steel seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. Shift is M-F 5:00am to 3:30pm with mandatory overtime if assigned on Friday and Saturday.
Responsibilities
- Operate machinery for steel fabrication (plasma table or table saw) and processing tasks
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to understand project specifications
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Monitor and adjust machine settings to ensure precise cutting and drilling as required
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to meet production deadlines and standards
- Troubleshoot and rectify operational issues with machinery in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and industry regulations
Requirements
- Proven experience operating machinery
- Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes and techniques
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in construction
- Proficient in basic computer skills and familiarity with machine control software
