Job Description
Head of Brand & Product Development – Home & Textiles
Remote (U.S. based)
Reports to: Commercial Director
Full-time, Permanent
Our client is an AI-powered gifting platform reimagining how people give and receive, all through a sustainable, emotionally resonant lens. Our client's consumer site is the proving ground — but our broader vision includes proprietary technology, immersive gifting experiences, and a growing portfolio of in-house brands. One of the most exciting extensions of our client's company is a creative brand-building arm focused on launching and growing proprietary lifestyle brands. They're starting with a home goods brand, rooted in beauty, purpose, and timeless utility.
About The Role
We’re looking for a visionary
brand builder to lead the creation and launch of their first private brand — starting with
home goods and textiles. This is a hands-on role for someone who knows how to transform a product concept into reality: from sketches and samples to sourcing, production, packaging, and storytelling.
The ideal candidate has deep experience in both product development and branding, with a strong network of factories — ideally including white-label manufacturers in key high-quality production hubs (especially Brazil and Turkey) –– as well as a sharp eye for design.
You’ll work under the guidance of an executive advisor, but will have full ownership of brand development — with access to select resources (marketing, creative, ops) of the parent company as needed. This is a rare opportunity to build something from scratch inside an innovative company, with long-term leadership potential as the brand scales.
Key Responsibilities
In-House Brand & Product Development
- Own the vision, concept, and development of a new in-house home decor brand under this private label umbrella
- Define brand strategy: positioning, name, design identity, product vision, packaging, pricing, and storytelling
- Lead product development across soft and hard goods categories (e.g., bedding, linens, home décor)
- Build and manage relationships with overseas manufacturing partners and white-label producers — particularly in cost-efficient, design-forward markets like Brazil and Turkey — including assessing factory capabilities, negotiating pricing, and ensuring quality control.
- Ensure product and packaging meet relevant safety, labeling, and compliance regulations

Go-To-Market Planning
- Define launch roadmap and early sales goals, in partnership with leadership
- Identify go-to-market channels (DTC, wholesale, boutique retail, marketplaces, etc.)
- Develop low investment/high return brand marketing strategies, including social media, influencer seeding, and editorial storytelling
- Create branded materials and sales decks in collaboration with the marketing team

Cross-Functional & Future Team Leadership
- Collaborate with internal departments (ops, finance, creative) for key milestones and vendor needs
- Oversee contractors and vendors (e.g., photographers, stylists, packaging suppliers) to bring the brand vision to market
- Prepare to grow the brand team — especially in sales, account management, and marketing — as the business scales

Essential Requirements
- 8–12+ years experience in home goods, textiles, or lifestyle brand development
- Experience building product from scratch: sourcing, sampling, negotiating, and launching
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements for home products
- Strong understanding of branding and visual identity — from storytelling to packaging to social media
- Proven ability to work directly with manufacturers and suppliers, both domestic and international — with preference for candidates who bring connections to overseas factories and white-label manufacturers in high-quality markets like Brazil or Turkey
- Strong business instincts: understands margin targets, COGs, and pricing strategy
- Able to roll up your sleeves — writing copy, overseeing shoots, managing timelines — but also lead as the brand grows
- Experience managing vendors, junior team members, or freelancers
- Bonus: Experience with product development for a recognizable U.S. home brand/retailer (Crate & Barrel, West Elm) or brand expansion into a major U.S. retailer (e.g. Target, Bloomingdale’s)

Why Join The Team?
- Be the founding leader of a new home brand with creative freedom and long-term ownership potential
- Build inside a nimble, high-growth company with resources across marketing, technology, and ecommerce
- Help shape the next era of lifestyle retail — blending emotion, purpose, and exceptional design
- Collaborate with seasoned leaders and visionary advisors
- Competitive compensation + the opportunity to become General Manager of a brand

Salary: $165k–$185k annually + medical benefits + PTO
