Lean Six Search is partnered with a food & beverage manufacturing company in their search for a Director of Procurement. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity to oversee purchasing & procurement operations across multiple business units. This individual will drive supplier performance, purchasing strategy, and operational efficiency while balancing cost control and supply continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead purchasing operations for goods and services, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery objectives are achieved.
- Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures for vendor selection, evaluation, and negotiation.
- Oversee sourcing processes including RFPs/RFQs, bidding, and purchase order management.
- Track and report key performance metrics (KPIs) related to supplier performance, product availability, and inventory levels, using data to guide continuous improvement.
- Analyze market conditions, recommend strategic sourcing initiatives, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Provide spend analytics and performance insights to senior leadership.
- Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships to support company growth and operational excellence.
- Utilize ERP and analytics tools to enhance visibility and decision-making across the procurement function.
- Lead and develop a team of procurement professionals to ensure alignment with company objectives.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing, including 5+ years in a leadership capacity.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Demonstrated success in supplier negotiations, cost-reduction initiatives, and strategic sourcing.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience using ERP systems and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of inventory management, demand planning, and forecasting methodologies.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
