KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop enterprise-level sourcing strategies for fixed industrial equipment used in mining and processing facilities, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and operational priorities across multiple sites.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to translate technical requirements into actionable procurement plans, guaranteeing that equipment specifications meet performance standards and project timelines.
- Negotiate complex supplier agreements and long-term contracts, balancing cost optimization with reliability and quality to support multi-million-dollar capital projects.
- Drive standardization of equipment design and vendor practices across all locations, reducing variability, improving maintenance efficiency, and ensuring consistent operational performance.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with suminppliers at both local and national levels, leveraging relationships to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and priority access to critical equipment.
- Proactively identify and mitigate procurement risks, including supply chain disruptions, price volatility, and delivery delays, using data-driven insights and contingency planning.
- Optimize logistics and delivery processes for large-scale equipment installations, ensuring timely arrival and seamless integration into project workflows.
- Monitor and manage procurement budgets for capital projects, delivering measurable cost savings while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
- Lead post-installation issue resolution, including warranty claims and performance troubleshooting, to protect project investments and maintain operational continuity.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Construction Management (advanced degree preferred).
- Proven experience in capital equipment procurement within mining, heavy industrial, or large-scale manufacturing environments.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility for up to 60% travel.
- Analytical and strategic mindset, capable of balancing short-term project needs with long-term business objectives.
