About the Company: Our client, a NYC packaging design firm, is seeking an experienced Supply Chain & Purchasing Specialist Specialist to oversee end-to-end supply chain activities, procurement and purchasing.
About the Role: The role requires someone whose primary background and day to day experience centers around sourcing materials, vendor management, and procurement, not the movement or coordination of goods. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in driving efficiencies across the supply chain, while meeting strict timelines and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily supply chain operations, including procurement, production planning, and logistics coordination
- Oversee order processing, purchase order creation, and tracking to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships; negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to optimize cost and service
- Monitor inventory levels, manage replenishment, and forecast demand to support business needs
- Supervise quality control and pre-production processes, including sample approvals and compliance checks
- Coordinate shipping and delivery schedules with internal teams and third-party logistics providers
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs and increase efficiency across the supply chain
- Collaborate with sales, account management, and design teams to align operational execution with project timelines
- Track KPIs related to cost savings, on-time delivery, and vendor performance; generate and present reports to leadership
- Maintain compliance with company standards and industry regulations throughout all operational processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in supply chain, operations, or procurement management, preferably in packaging, manufacturing, or consumer goods
- Strong knowledge of procurement strategies, logistics, and inventory control practices
- Proven ability to negotiate with vendors and manage supplier performance effectively
Required Skills:
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with ERP or supply chain management software is a plus
