Job Summary
The Vice President of Procurement leads all aspects of an organization’s supply chain, including procurement, materials management, supplier relations, and production scheduling. This role focuses on achieving cost efficiency, high quality, and reliable supply through effective strategy, strong supplier partnerships, and continuous improvement across operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement and supply chain strategies that support organizational goals.
- Lead and mentor teams to ensure collaboration, performance, and accountability.
- Manage sourcing, contracting, and supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost control, and reliability.
- Negotiate agreements and implement initiatives that reduce costs and mitigate risks.
- Oversee material planning, inventory management, and logistics to ensure smooth production flow.
- Apply lean principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Track key performance metrics to drive operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, ethical, and sustainability standards.
- Identify and manage supply chain risks to ensure business continuity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 15+ years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain, including senior leadership roles.
- Strong background in manufacturing or complex production environments.
- Expertise in contract negotiation, supplier management, and global sourcing.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and analytical tools.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and inventory control practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
- Professional certifications (CPSM, CSCP, or CPIM) preferred.
- Experience in advanced or emerging technologies is a plus.
