Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) team. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, sound critical thinking, and the ability to provide expert care to patients with complex medical and critical conditions. As a vital member of our critical care team, the RN will deliver high-quality, evidence-based care in a fast-paced environment that requires focus, collaboration, and compassion.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, patient-centered critical care to acutely ill medical patients.
- Perform detailed patient assessments and implement individualized nursing care plans.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and critical care drips per physician orders.
- Monitor and interpret vital signs, hemodynamic data, and lab results to guide interventions.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, including code and rapid response situations.
- Collaborate closely with intensivists, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in EPIC EMR.
- Educate patients and families on care plans and post-discharge instructions.
- Uphold hospital standards for infection control, safety, and quality care.
Required Qualifications
- Active NYS Registered Nurse (RN) License – in good standing.
- BLS and ACLS certifications – required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – required.
- Associate degree considered only if actively enrolled in a BSN program.
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience – required.
- Minimum of 2 years of hospital-based RN experience – required.
- EPIC EMR experience – highly preferred.
