Our client, a leader in personal care goods, is looking to add a Director of Global Quality to their team in Rahway, NJ.
This critical position will lead Quality Assurance and Quality Control across internal operations and a global network of contract manufacturers. This role develops and drives a robust Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring product excellence, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction from development through delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Global Quality Strategy & Leadership
- Define and execute a unified global quality vision aligned with growth and compliance goals.
- Lead QA/QC programs, including testing, product specs, and compliance frameworks for in-house and third-party operations.
- Manage and develop global teams, promoting a culture of quality, ISO standards, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with APAC and EMEA partners to optimize contract manufacturing and quality performance.
Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Oversee an integrated QMS compliant with ISO 22716, FDA, EPA, and international standards.
- Manage documentation, CAPA, risk management, change controls, and audit readiness.
- Lead internal/external audits and ensure global regulatory preparedness.
Supplier & Contract Manufacturing Oversight
- Direct supplier qualification, audits, and compliance programs.
- Partner with Procurement and R&D on supplier performance and risk mitigation.
- Implement quality training and inspection protocols across geographies.
Customer Experience & Compliance
- Manage global customer feedback and complaints to drive corrective actions.
- Ensure products meet all safety, labeling, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor global regulations and align policies accordingly.
Change Management & People Development
- Champion quality culture transformation across the business.
- Coach and develop a high-performing global quality team.
- Advise leadership on compliance, product integrity, and risk.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Establish and monitor global quality KPIs.
- Lead process improvements using Lean/Six Sigma.
- Utilize digital tools to improve visibility, efficiency, and predictive control.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Operations, R&D, or related field.
- 15+ years of progressive QA/QC leadership in consumer goods, cosmetics, personal care, or pharma.
- Expertise in global quality systems, supplier quality, and regulatory compliance (FDA, ISO, EPA) is required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage global projects.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with digital QMS tools.
Work Environment
Primarily office-based with occasional travel (domestic and international).
Must hold a valid driver's license and passport. Occasional exposure to manufacturing conditions.
Hybrid work flexibility but must be local or commute to the Rahway, NJ office.
