The purpose of this posting is to create a pool of qualified candidates for entry-level Contract Clerk positions within the various divisions of the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
All qualified applications will remain active and available to Hiring Managers for a period of 180 days from the date the application is submitted.
Clerks within these divisions are responsible for routine duties such as, but not limited to:
- Data Entry
- Typing
- Answering phones
- Receiving and processing a high volume of requests such as warrants, bonds, and other documents received from the Criminal Justice entities
- Successful completion of the specialized division training program is required for continued employment
- Manage compensation packages using standard payroll software
- Collect and verify timekeeping data for employees
- Observe and adhere to all payroll cut-off deadlines
- Creates, revises, and/or edits job descriptions using a competency-based job template
- Posts and monitors job vacancies, and screens applications through an applicant tracking system (NeoGov)
- Other duties as assigned
