We're searching for a hands-on HR Generalist to help shape our journey in the USA. Reporting into the Reginal HR Partner you will support the US workforce and help build policy and compliance outlined in our People Plan Road Map - someone who knows how to roll up their sleeves and enjoys making a difference.
As the go-to HR voice for our US team, you'll be embedded in the business, supporting managers and employees to deliver results and owning the day-to-day employee lifecycle. You'll own a wide range of people operations, from compliance to culture, from onboarding to offboarding, Payroll and Benefits and play a key role in scaling our HR foundations as we grow in the US.
Key Responsibilities:
Be the USA Go-To HR Point of Contact
Own the day-to-day activity for the US team managing requests through our HR inbox and ticketing system in a timely manner across multiple states.
Set the Stage for Success from Day One
Prepare offer letters and contracts and seamlessly guide candidates through onboarding and I9 verifications so they feel part of the organisation from the very start.
Ensure Accuracy and Integrity of our USA Employee Data
Input and update employee, job, payroll, and organizational information in Bell’s HRIS and EOR platforms with precision.
Be the Backbone of Our USA Employee Journey
Coordinate and deliver outstanding HR support across the entire employee lifecycle — from hire to retire and everything in between, escalating where appropriate.
Coordinate Payroll administration with Internal and External Teams
Partner with internal teams and external payroll provider (EOR) to keep payroll processes smooth, accurate, and on time.
Champion Best Practice
Help the HR Business Partners build, update, and communicate policies and procedures that keep Bell compliant, efficient, and forward-thinking.
Team Up to Transform Data into Impactful Reports
Support our leaders & HR team, back up the HR Business Partners and US managers with maintaining, and presenting key HR data,
Take the lead on employee relations matters
Own ER cases with empathy and confidence, coaching managers to navigate employee relations issues with a calm, solutions-focused mindset.
Advise, Connect, and Collaborate with Managers
Facilitate meaningful conversations and set up weekly ’drop in’ meetings to provide HR guidance, and coach managers through people-related matters to help them lead with clarity and confidence.
Be Part of the Success
Collaborate on projects, provide thoughtful recommendations, and play a key role in transforming and elevating our HR operations.
Be a Regional Collaborator
Work closely with stakeholders across regions to bring local knowledge and insights that empowers meaningful, effective HR projects.
Experience/Skills:
- Regional HR Expertise: Proven 2-3 years’ experience supporting teams across the Tri-State area and beyond. Deep knowledge of U.S. employment law, with a strong preference for California compliance experience.
- Payroll and Benefits Confident: Familiar with U.S. payroll processes and compliance (e.g FMLA). confident to assist with yearly benefits strategies. Able to liaise with third-party providers to ensure timely, accurate payroll experience.
- Compliance & Curiosity: Solid grounding in U.S. labor law and a genuine interest in staying ahead of employment law updates.
- Global Collaboration: You're comfortable working with a UK-based manager, understand how to stay aligned across time zones and familiar with a global matrix organization.
- HR Tech Savvy: Proficient In HRIS platforms and MS software’s (e.g., data management, reporting). Bonus points if you’ve been a system admin.
- EoR Knowledge: Prior experience working with Employers of Record (like TriNet) is a big plus.
- Operational Excellence: Highly organized with sharp attention to detail. Able to manage competing priorities and deadlines with ease. Comfortable juggling day-to-day HR operations while advising managers and leadership on best practices.
- Clear Communicator: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Confident in addressing sensitive or confidential topics with discretion and clarity.
- Friendly and Inclusive: You have a people-first approach and are a strong relationship builder. Able to engage with employees and managers, providing thoughtful, timely support.
- Agile and Responsive: You take initiative, especially when it comes to high-impact areas like offer processes, onboarding, and resolving people-related issues quickly and effectively.
- Self-Starter: You're proactive, self-motivated, and don’t wait for direction to get things moving. You’re energized by change and comfortable working in a growing environment.
- Hybrid-Ready: You're equipped to work effectively from home, but also happy to collaborate in person—expect to be in the office at least twice a week and available for ad hoc face-to-face meetings as needed.
