In this role, you’ll provide nursing services across a variety of settings including outpatient clinics, crisis centers, residential programs, primary care, and community-based care. As a Float Nurse, you’ll bring your expertise to where it’s needed most—supporting patients in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, and medical care.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform nursing assessments, screenings, and vital signs per service line requirements.
- Monitor health status and coordinate care with treatment teams.
- Create action plans addressing physical and mental health treatment needs.
- Provide disease prevention, risk reduction, and health education.
- Arrange and monitor medical appointments, including hospital discharge coordination.
- Administer and oversee administration of medications according to service line requirements.
- Monitor medication compliance, side effects, and consult with providers as necessary.
- Assist physicians/advanced practice providers with exams and procedures.
- Draw labs, review lab results, and communicate findings to treatment teams.
- Coordinate medication needs with pharmacies and utilize indigent drug programs.
- Document all services in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner.
- Respond calmly and professionally to crises and emergencies.
- Serve as a role model of compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Participate in required training, team meetings, and quality assurance processes.
- Other duties as assigned by leadership.
Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
- Current licensure in the state of Indiana as one of the following:
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Must be willing to become licensed in additional states as needed.
- Must be willing and comfortable providing telehealth services (training provided).
- FQHC: BCLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
Required License/Certification (one of the following):
- Registered Nurse (RN), State of Indiana
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), State of Indiana
Additional Qualifications:
- Strong clinical judgment, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexibly across service lines and settings.
- Effective communication skills (in-person, phone, and video conferencing).
- Knowledge of behavioral health and/or substance use disorder treatment preferred.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in crisis situations.
