Job Responsibilities
Provide basic patient care including assistance with activities of daily living and personal needs
Assist patients with eating and hydration by opening containers, cutting food, or feeding patients as directed by a registered nurse
Measure and record clinical measurements such as vital signs, patient weight, and intake and output
Ensure patients have a comfortable and safe environment by following patient rounding standards
Communicate regularly with nursing staff regarding patient condition according to unit protocols
Comply with organizational and departmental ergonomic and safety principles while performing all work activities
Perform other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications
Minimum Required:
HS Diploma/GED and successful completion of Certified Nursing Assistant Trainee program
OR
Current CNA Certification
Valid CNA Certification
OR
Obtain within 12 months upon completion of CNA training.
Work Environment
- Work is performed in an office environment and patient care areas which require working in proximity to other employees and patients. Rooms are air conditioned and heated.
- Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting.
- Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
- PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by UHS Hospitals Infection Control policies.

- School Age: 6 to 12 Years
- Adolescent: 13 to 17 Years
- Early Adulthood: 18 to 45 Years
- Middle Adult: 46 to 59 Years
- Late Adult: 60 to 79 Years
- Elderly: 80+ Years
