Role Overview
The Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating Officer (CFO/COO) will be a key strategic partner to the leadership team, responsible for building the financial and operational foundation that enables HealthyBaby to scale. On the finance side, this leader will drive financial planning, capital allocation, and fundraising support, ensuring the company is resourced for growth while maintaining fiscal discipline. On the operations side, they will oversee suppliers, manufacturing, procurement, and supply chain to deliver high-quality products cost-effectively and on time.
This is a hands-on executive role in a growing company: the CFO/COO must balance strategic foresight with tactical execution, operating in the details while shaping long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Strategy, Capital Allocation & Fundraising
- Develop and manage long-term financial strategies that align with HealthyBaby’s growth ambitions and capital requirements
- Partner with the President to prepare for and support fundraising efforts (equity, debt, grants)
- Build sophisticated financial models for scenario planning, investment evaluation, and ROI on growth initiatives
- Ensure resources are allocated to the highest-impact priorities across innovation, marketing, and operations
- Provide financial and operational analysis to support strategic partnerships or new category expansion opportunities.
- Investor & Board Communication
- Develop a structured communication cadence with investors, providing clear updates on financial performance, strategy, and milestones
- Prepare board/investor packages that present HealthyBaby’s financials, operational health, and forward-looking plans with clarity and transparency
- Serve as a credible, confident financial spokesperson for the company in investor and partner discussions.
- Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee budgeting, reforecasting, and cash flow management
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, compliance, and strong internal controls
- Build dashboards and KPIs to provide leadership with real-time visibility into company performance.
- Operations Leadership
- Manage day-to-day operations across manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, and logistics
- Leverage existing supplier relationships while forging new partnerships to ensure HealthyBaby has the most viable and scalable network
- Negotiate supplier contracts and manage costs while protecting quality and safety standards
- Drive operational efficiency, process improvement, and cost optimization
- Champion systems and process automation (ERP, AI/analytics, forecasting tools)
- Ensure regulatory and quality compliance across product lines and markets.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Innovation to align operational feasibility and cost of goods targets
- Support Commercial and Marketing teams with demand planning, trade spend, and promotional investment decisions
- Integrate financial and operational perspectives into all leadership decisions.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Build and mentor a finance and operations team over time; initially operate in a lean, highly hands-on capacity
- Create a culture of transparency, accountability, and fiscal discipline.
Qualifications & Skills
- 15+ years of senior finance and operations leadership, with experience in scaling young consumer companies (CPG, health, wellness, or adjacent categories). Knowledge of the baby category is a plus
- Proven expertise in capital allocation, fundraising support, and investor relations
- Strong track record in building financial models, supporting investment decisions, and optimizing resource deployment
- Deep operational experience in supply chain, procurement, and manufacturing partnerships
- Skilled in working capital management, inventory optimization, and cost control
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment while maintaining financial rigor
- Comfort with AI-powered financial and operational tools to strengthen modeling, forecasting, and decision-making
- Strong communication and executive presence; able to build credibility with investors, partners, and suppliers
- A true business partner to brand, product, and marketing — not a siloed finance exec
- Disruptive thinker who designs new models for growth-stage businesses
- Strategic yet hands-on, able to dive into details while shaping the big picture
