Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Billing and Scheduling Specialist to join our team. This role focuses on managing healthcare billing, collections, and scheduling functions using HHAeXchange. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial and operational acumen, a passion for accuracy, and the ability to collaborate across teams to ensure seamless billing and scheduling operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit accurate claims for home health care services to various payers, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance companies
- Ensure timely submission of claims to avoid reimbursement delays
- Review and resolve claim denials and rejections promptly
- Follow up on unpaid claims, investigating and correcting any discrepancies
- Post payments received and maintain detailed, accurate records of billing activities and communications with payers
- Ensure all billing activities comply with federal, state, and payer-specific regulations and guidelines
- Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation as requested
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate documentation of services rendered
- Work closely with the finance team to reconcile accounts receivable and track payments
- Provide SOPs and training to schedulers, and monitor their work for accuracy and compliance
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives
- Work within HHAeXchange systems for billing and scheduling workflows.
Skills
- Minimum one (1) year of home care billing and accounts receivable experience
- Must have experience with HHAeXchange billing and scheduling
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Familiarity with claim clearinghouse platforms a plus
- Strong analytical skills and ability to reconcile accounts receivable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proven track record of goal achievement
- Ability to manage multiple systems and meet/exceed established performance goals
