We have partnered with a leading Nutraceutical Ingredient Manufacturer to recruit for an Innovation & Science Manager – Midwest USA, responsible for leading scientific innovation, product development, and technical support across a diverse portfolio of functional health ingredients.
This is a strategic, cross-functional role that bridges R&D, commercial strategy, and scientific communication, supporting both internal teams and key external partners across the dietary supplement and functional food markets.
Key Requirements:
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Nutritional Science, Food Science, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in scientific affairs, R&D, or product innovation within the nutraceutical, dietary supplement, or functional ingredient space.
- Strong knowledge of clinical research, regulatory compliance (e.g., DSHEA, GRAS, EFSA), and structure-function claims.
- Ability to translate complex science into clear commercial and regulatory narratives.
- Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and regulatory teams.
- Located in the Midwest U.S. and able to travel for internal meetings, customer presentations, and industry events
Responsibilities:
- Lead the scientific development and positioning of new and existing nutraceutical ingredients.
- Support customer innovation and sales teams with technical expertise, including clinical data, mechanisms of action, and formulation guidance.
- Manage relationships with research institutions, clinical partners, and third-party testing labs.
- Develop and review scientific content for white papers, technical sheets, and marketing materials.
- Monitor emerging scientific and regulatory trends to inform product pipeline strategy.
- Represent the company at industry events, scientific conferences, and technical workshops.
