Job Description:
- We are developing a revolutionary, low-cost single-molecule DNA sequencer that can potentially improve the lives of people in a wide variety of ways including timely screening for diseases and diagnosis of various cancers by fusing biological and integrated circuit technology.
- We are seeking a mechanical engineer to support development of consumable fluidic devices, with educational and/or professional background in mechanical and/or process engineering.
- This candidate will be responsible for supporting consumable device components and surface chemistry teams in a variety of activities as needed.
- Flowcell manufacturing, process development, and assembly.
- Facilitate senior engineers in SolidWorks design.
- Dimensional and mechanical measurements, including data analysis and reporting.
- Surface metrology and characterization.
- Component testing, quality checks, and visual inspection.
- Sample preparation for external analysis.
- Component and subcomponent inventory management; shipping preparation and receiving.
- Associates, bachelors, or masters degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering with 0-2 years of experience in the medical device industry.
- Microfabrication, microfluidics and materials knowledge or experience is preferred.
- Excellence in familiarity with SolidWorks, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets or equivalent required.
- Familiarity with metrology or microscopy equipment is also a big plus.
Technical Information:
- Pay: $30-70 hourly on a W2, depending on experience level
- Onsite, M-F, 8am-5pm
- 12-month contract with potential for extension/conversion
