Global Life Science Hub is partnered with a leading biologics biotech entering an unprecedented period of global manufacturing expansion, and we’re seeking a Vice President, Manufacturing & Engineering to lead multi-site biologics operations across both Drug Substance and Drug Product facilities.
This executive will be at the helm of large-scale commercial manufacturing while driving site build-outs, engineering upgrades, and facilities expansions to meet rapidly growing clinical and commercial demand.
With several state-of-the-art biologics sites in development - including new commercial suites and multi-thousand-litre capacity expansions, this is a rare chance to shape a manufacturing network from the ground up and ensure it is regulatory-ready, scalable, and globally competitive.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership for multi-site biologics manufacturing across DS and DP operations, including upstream, downstream, formulation, aseptic fill/finish
- Oversee engineering, facilities, and capital projects, ensuring readiness for site start-up, expansion, and regulatory inspection
- Define and execute strategies for scalable, high-performance operations across clinical and commercial supply
- Partner with executive leadership to align manufacturing and engineering goals with overall business objectives
- Drive efficient technology transfers from process development into commercial production
- Ensure continuous inspection readiness and adherence to global cGMP standards (FDA, EMA, etc.)
- Act as executive sponsor during regulatory audits, representing the network to health authorities
- Champion a culture of compliance, operational excellence, and safety across all sites
- Build and mentor high-performing site leadership teams across manufacturing, engineering, and facilities
- Lead CAPEX/OPEX planning, long-term capacity forecasting, and network-wide operational metrics
- Embed Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma tools to deliver cost-efficiency and productivity gains
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, life sciences, or related discipline; advanced degree (MS, PhD, MBA) strongly preferred
- 20+ years in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, with 10+ years in senior, multi-site leadership roles
- Proven track record in site start-up, expansion, and commercial readiness in biologics manufacturing
- Deep knowledge of upstream/downstream operations, aseptic fill/finish, and supporting quality systems
- Successful leadership of engineering and facilities functions, including capital project delivery
- Experience across both clinical and large-scale commercial manufacturing environments
- Demonstrated success in regulatory inspections and building inspection-ready facilities
- Skilled in organizational design, change management, and leadership development
