Job Description

This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS Government Medical Serivces, Inc. and provide services outlined below:
International SOS Government Medical Serivces, Inc. is looking for a Medical Records Technician to organize, manage, and safeguard patient health information and medical records. They ensure the accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of medical data, supporting effective patient care and compliance with health care regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize, update, and maintain patient medical records and health information systems.
- Accurately enter patient data into electronic medical records (EMR) system.
- Ensure medical records are compliant with health care regulations, including HIPAA.
- Safeguard patient information and ensure the confidentiality of medical records.
- Process requests for medical records and information release, adhering to legal and hospital policies.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of medical records, correcting any discrepancies.
- Assist with coding and categorizing diagnosis and procedures according to standardized coding systems.
- Prepare records for internal and external audits and inspections.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to clarify and update patient information.
- Generate reports and summaries for medical records data as needed.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
- Experience and understanding of healthcare delivery preferred.
Education Required:
- High School (HS) or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
Physical Requirements:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications:
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
- Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
