Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Direct the development, implementation, and governance of Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement programs across all Boar’s Head facilities.
- Lead and coach site leadership teams in identifying, prioritizing, and executing improvement projects related to quality, cost, delivery, safety, and employee engagement.
- Support site-level performance improvements by providing expertise in Root Cause Analysis, Standard Work, 5S, SMED, Kaizen events, and other CI tools.
- Partner with the EVP of Operations to develop short and long-term OpEx strategies that align with growth, productivity, and cultural transformation goals.
- Develop and manage the OpEx department and performance metrics to ensure effective use of resources and tracking of ROI for all improvement efforts.
- Provide ongoing coaching, training, and development of CI capabilities across all functional levels, from front-line associates to senior leadership.
- Facilitate benchmarking, best practice sharing, and standardization of processes across facilities to ensure consistent execution and efficiency.
- Coordinate with plant operations, maintenance, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams to align improvement initiatives and eliminate waste.
- Monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations by integrating OpEx efforts with safety, quality, and environmental standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, USDA).
- Evaluate and improve operational performance using data analysis, KPIs, dashboards, and other business intelligence tools.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, consultants, and vendors supporting Operational Excellence and training efforts.
- Drive cultural adoption of a Continuous Improvement mindset throughout the organization.
- Perform other leadership duties assigned to support operational transformation.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of leadership in operations, engineering, or Continuous Improvement within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the protein or food industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, or similar methodologies, with proven project execution and value delivery.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and performance drivers (e.g., OEE, yield, labor efficiency, downtime, throughput).
- Skilled in operational and strategic planning and project prioritization.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to coach and influence senior leaders and teams, even without direct authority.
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis platforms.
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
- Ability to effectively present information and communicate with all levels of management.
- Must have a strong command of the English Language.
Mathematical Skills
- Basic math skills required (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
- Advanced math skills in the areas of statistics preferred.
Reasoning Ability
- Must have the ability to define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and deal with problems involving several concrete and non-concrete variables.
- This position requires the ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and be proactive.
- Possess practical and technical skills as well as the ability to communicate the department’s objectives in a clear and persuasive manner is essential.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registration
- Black Belt or Lean Certification strongly preferred.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly sit, stand, bend, walk, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, or controls; may be required to lift up to fifty pounds.
- Vision abilities include close vision to a computer screen.
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and moving between work areas in a cold environment.
Work Environment
- Primarily a standard office environment with regular exposure to the manufacturing/distribution operations floor for on-site training sessions.
- Adherence to safety protocols, including wearing PPE (personal protective equipment) as necessary when on the distribution/manufacturing floor.
