President - Distribution Company
Seattle, WA
Our client is a privately held distribution company with approximately $20M in annual revenue, serving industrial and construction markets across the U.S. The business combines product distribution, fabrication, and processing capabilities. With a solid foundation and loyal customer base, the company is entering a critical phase of transformation and is seeking a hands-on executive to lead that effort.
We are seeking a President to lead the organization with a focus on strategic sales management, operational oversight, and cultural reset. The company is profitable but under-optimized, with a need for structure, discipline, and performance tracking. This is a high-impact role for a leader who can bring analytical rigor to the sales function, manage a unionized workforce, and align the team toward long-term growth goals.
The ideal candidate has successfully led within small to mid-sized businesses—bringing a balance of strategic thinking and day-to-day execution. Experience in a manufacturing & distribution-heavy environment, particularly with sales-focused transformation, is key.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead day-to-day operations with a strong focus on sales performance, process improvement, and business development
- Build a metrics-driven sales culture: implement tools for forecasting, pipeline analysis, and performance management
- Manage and develop a cross-functional leadership team, including quality, engineering, and commercial operations
- Establish systems for financial reporting, operational reviews, and strategic planning
- Partner with ownership and participate in quarterly board updates
- Navigate legacy challenges and cultural resistance while creating alignment and accountability
- Make key hires, elevate team performance, and lead organizational transformation
What You Bring:
- Proven leadership experience at the executive level in distribution or related industries
- Strong background in sales management and analytics, with the ability to implement structure and systems
- Experience managing warehouse or operations teams (manufacturing exposure a plus, but not required)
- Ability to lead through change, especially in environments that have historically operated informally
- Excellent communication, reporting, and financial acumen
- Comfortable in a unionized environment and experienced in managing personnel issues with confidence
- Practical, grounded, and execution-focused leadership style
Benefits & Appreciation:
- Medical Insurance provided
- 401K + matching
- Competitive Compensation: $200-225K + Bonus potential
