Job Overview – Senior Associate / VP, Operations
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Hybrid (4 days in office / 1 remote)
A leading RIA with over $15B in assets under management is looking to add a Senior Associate or VP-level Operations professional to their lean and collaborative team. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day functioning of the firm's operational infrastructure, working closely with advisory teams and custodians.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of RIA operations, SMA workflows, and private fund structures who enjoys process improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and support daily operations, including trading, account administration, and cash movements
- Assist with custodian account onboarding, closures, and maintenance for advisory teams
- Coordinate and monitor inflows/outflows to separately managed accounts (SMAs)
- Understand and manage operational aspects of the private fund lifecycle
- Identify and implement process enhancements; evaluate and re-engineer workflows
- Ensure advisory teams and client associates are properly trained on internal systems (e.g., Salesforce)
- Communicate regularly with custodians, internal stakeholders, and external partners
- Take on additional operations projects as needed
Qualifications:
- 5–10 years of operations experience in a wealth management or investment advisory firm
- Deep knowledge of SMA workflows and custodial platforms
- Familiarity with private fund operations and structures
- Strong analytical and process-improvement mindset
- Proficient in CRM tools (Salesforce preferred), Excel, and reporting systems
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Highly organized, solutions-oriented, and collaborative
