We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Operations to lead our $40M manufacturing site in Stockton, CA. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. The Director will play a key role in shaping the plant’s future, optimizing processes, leading cross-functional teams, and supporting the company’s growth trajectory in the utility sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, supply chain, EHS, quality, and engineering.
- Develop and execute site-level strategic plans aligned with enterprise goals.
- Drive a culture of safety, continuous improvement (Lean/CI), and operational excellence.
- Partner with sales, product management, and corporate functions to support customer needs and growth initiatives.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing team across all functions.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and quality standards in a demanding utility market.
- Foster employee engagement, collaboration, and accountability throughout the organization.
- Support capital investments and new technology implementation as part of modernization initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years at a senior or plant management level.
- Industry experience in utility products, electrical components, or industrial manufacturing highly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and change management.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L, capital projects, and operational KPIs.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and implement scalable processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic planning skills.
