JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials, components, and services necessary for the timely and cost-effective installation of stairs, railings, and blinds. This position ensures supply chain efficiency, vendor quality, and inventory control while supporting project timelines and profitability for a fast-paced installation business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Sourcing and Procurement:
- Sources and evaluates suppliers of stair components, custom woodwork, hardware, blinds and installation materials
- Negotiates pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to optimize cost and quality
- Maintains and improves relationships with preferred vendors
- Reviews architectural drawings and project scopes in partnership with other applicable team members to determine purchasing requirements
Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
- Monitors stock levels and reorders thresholds to ensure timely availability of materials
- Coordinates just-in-time deliveries with project schedules to minimize inventory holding costs
- Tracks incoming shipments and resolves discrepancies or delays with suppliers and freight carriers
Project Coordination Support:
- Collaborates with managers and teams to anticipate material needs
- Ensures accurate take-offs and timely ordering of custom materials with long lead times
- Assists in value engineering by proposing cost-effective alternatives to high-cost or unavailable materials
- Maintains procurement schedules aligned with construction timelines
Financial and Administrative Oversight:
- Manages purchase order creation, documentation, and invoice reconciliation
- Analyzes purchasing trends and generates cost-saving reports for senior leadership
- Ensures compliance with budgetary constraints and company procurement policies
- Supports job costing efforts by accurately coding purchasing to the appropriate job(s)
Quality Control and Vendor Performance:
- Ensures materials meet project specifications, building codes, and aesthetic standards
- Evaluates vendor performance and quality through periodic reviews and corrective action if needed
- Maintains approved vendor lists and conducts periodic assessments of supply chain reliability
General:
- Demonstrates and champions the organization's core values
- Attends departmental and company meetings, as required
- Maintains proficient understanding and working knowledge of all relevant technical aspects of the job by attending conferences, seminars, and related educational events
- Ensures all job duties and responsibilities are carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, and standard practices
- Demonstrates and maintains proficient working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint applications, as well as systems and programs relevant to tracking, retaining, and managing purchasing and other related activities
- Performs other duties as assigned
WORKING ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires frequent sitting for extended periods of time, as well as frequent walking, standing, reading, seeing, speaking, hearing, listening, organizing, interpreting data and information, operating office equipment, typing using a computer keyboard and mouse, viewing a computer screen monitor, and use of a telephone. The working environment consists of an indoor and climate-controlled setting the majority of the time. This position may involve occasional local commuting to warehouse locations and vendor establishments, as necessary.

Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent GED;
- Five years of experience working in a procurement capacity with managerial responsibility
- One year of experience working in a supervisory leadership capacity; or
- An equivalent combination of education and work experience
