Job Summary (List Format) – R&D Product Process Engineer (Bob Evans)

Location: Hybrid on Site in Columbus, Ohio - Must be local

Lead engineering aspects for new food product launches from development through commercial manufacturing.
Collaborate with R&D scientists to specify processing and packaging methods for new and existing products.
Work closely with capital project engineers and manufacturing teams at multiple plant locations.
Provide process and packaging engineering support across several manufacturing facilities.
Develop and implement bench, pilot plant, and manufacturing plant test plans for new products.
Write and maintain manufacturing specifications for all new products.
Serve as primary liaison between R&D and Supply Chain during product commercialization phases.
Drive process capability studies for new product launches and improvements to existing products.
Provide technical support for cost savings, quality improvement, innovation, new technology adoption, and customer requests.
Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and efficiency standards during process and packaging development.
Support food traceability and quality management systems, including compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
Prepare technical reports, executive summaries, and review/write technical policies and procedures.
Manage multiple projects, set work priorities, and deliver high-quality, timely results.
Exhibit strong collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Experience/Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
5–7 years of process engineering experience, preferably in food & beverage or consumer packaged goods.
Experience with large-scale commercialization, food processing, manufacturing environments, and ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
