The Vice President of Global Manufacturing and New Product Introduction (NPI) is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and execution of our client's global manufacturing strategy, ensuring scalability and quality across all production sites. The VP will lead a global team to optimize processes, enhance operational excellence, and support the company’s growth and profitability objectives. This role bridges strategy and execution, and, at its core is about scale - scaling the scope of responsibilities, the impact of decisions, and the complexity of collaboration.
You will do this as you drive the successful introduction of new products, collaborating closely with R&D, supply chain, and engineering teams to bring innovative solutions to market efficiently and cost-effectively. Additionally, you will be responsible for Design to Cost (DTC) accountability, ensuring cost optimization throughout the product development and manufacturing lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a global manufacturing strategy aligned with corporate and business unit objectives to drive operational excellence, cost efficiency, and scalability.
- Oversee the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, ensuring seamless transitions from design to production while meeting time-to-market, cost, and quality targets.
- Partner with R&D, product development, and engineering teams to assess manufacturability and implement design-for-manufacturing and Design to Cost (DTC) principles.
- Set the standard and lead the regional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives leveraging Lean, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies to enhance productivity, yield, and quality.
- Ensure cost accountability through Design to Cost (DTC) strategies, collaborating with engineering and procurement to drive cost-efficient product development and production.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field; Master’s degree (MBA or relevant technical field) preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership roles, with a track record of success in global operations and new product introduction.
- Proven experience managing multi-site, international manufacturing operations in high-tech, consumer electronics, automotive, industrial, or related industries.
- Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies.
- Strong background in leading NPI processes, from prototype development to full-scale production.
