A fast-growing company in the chemical manufacturing industry is seeking a Manufacturing Manager to lead plant operations and drive production excellence. The ideal candidate is a safety-minded, process-driven leader with deep expertise in chemical manufacturing and a proven ability to manage teams and meet production targets. Working collaboratively, the new leader will optimize manufacturing performance by ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, implementing process improvements, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement while achieving operational efficiency and growth objectives.

Location: Pasadena

Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:

Lead and drive the performance of the manufacturing department.
Ensure the safe operation of the plant by ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) throughout the manufacturing process.
Responsible for developing and maintaining SOPs for the department as well as communicating revisions to the team.
Promote and maintain high housekeeping standards in all plant areas to ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment.
Consistently meet production schedules and targets, driving on-time production.
Manage and supervise production staff, including hiring, training, and completing performance evaluations.
Develop and implement comprehensive training programs to maintain staff competency and adherence to SOPs.
Conduct regular audits and initiate improvements to plant operations to ensure optimal efficiency.
Manage the production budget, establish and analyze performance metrics, and implement actions to enhance cost-effectiveness and drive operational efficiency.
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to drive and implement process improvements.
Facilitate and lead daily production meetings to review the previous day's performance, address issues, follow up on action items and timelines, and ensure smooth daily operations.
Prepare and present detailed reports on production performance, compliance, and other relevant metrics to the Site Manager.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline preferred
Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a specialty batch chemical plant
Proven experience in executing production schedules, staffing and training plans
Strong knowledge of standard operating procedures, safety regulations, and quality standards
Ability to successfully interface with customers, stakeholders, associates, and the community
Excellent problem solving and project management skills
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Strong attention to detail, ability to follow complex requests, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
Proficiency in manufacturing management software and tools
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
