A fast-growing company in the chemical manufacturing industry is seeking a Manufacturing Manager to lead plant operations and drive production excellence. Responsibilities:
- Lead and drive the performance of the manufacturing department.
- Ensure the safe operation of the plant by ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) throughout the manufacturing process.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining SOPs for the department as well as communicating revisions to the team.
- Promote and maintain high housekeeping standards in all plant areas to ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment.
- Consistently meet production schedules and targets, driving on-time production.
- Manage and supervise production staff, including hiring, training, and completing performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs to maintain staff competency and adherence to SOPs.
- Conduct regular audits and initiate improvements to plant operations to ensure optimal efficiency.
- Manage the production budget, establish and analyze performance metrics, and implement actions to enhance cost-effectiveness and drive operational efficiency.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to drive and implement process improvements.
- Facilitate and lead daily production meetings to review the previous day's performance, address issues, follow up on action items and timelines, and ensure smooth daily operations.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on production performance, compliance, and other relevant metrics to the Site Manager.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a specialty batch chemical plant
- Proven experience in executing production schedules, staffing and training plans
- Strong knowledge of standard operating procedures, safety regulations, and quality standards
- Ability to successfully interface with customers, stakeholders, associates, and the community
- Excellent problem solving and project management skills
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, ability to follow complex requests, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Proficiency in manufacturing management software and tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
