Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join our procurement team in our new manufacturing location in Alpharetta, Georgia. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services required for the manufacturing of medical devices. The ideal candidate will have experience in a regulated industry, strong supplier qualifications and management skills, and a commitment to quality and compliance. This is an on-site, full-time position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procure materials, components, and services in accordance with production schedules, inventory requirements, and quality standards
- Identify, qualify, and manage suppliers, ensuring they meet cost, quality, delivery, and compliance requirements.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and lead times with suppliers while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
- Issue purchase orders and maintain accurate records in the ERP system.
- Support the monitoring of supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness) and support corrective actions when necessary.
- Work closely with Planning, Engineering, and Quality teams regarding supplier qualifications and readiness for new product introductions (NPI) and engineering changes.
- Ensure all purchased materials comply with FDA regulations, ISO 13485, and other applicable standards.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies, supplier issues, and material shortages in a timely and effective manner.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to purchasing, including supply of MFC, and on-time delivery/schedule adherence.
- Assist with conducting quarterly business reviews as well as providing supporting data to support each review.
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining complete and accurate procurement documentation.
- Participate in cost reduction initiatives, supply risk management, and continuous improvement efforts within the supply chain.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Biology, Chemistry or related required.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification is preferred.
- Certified Purchasing professional (CPP), CPM or APICS Certification
- Experience:
- 5-7+ years in procurement within an ISO13485 regulated industry
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Strong negotiation skills
- Experience in Supplier qualifications and evaluations as well as supporting business reviews
- Proficiency in lean methodologies and Six Sigma tools
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as Power BI and/or Tableau.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP and Master data, preferably in Microsoft Dynamics 365
Pay Range: $90,000 USD - $94,400 USD
