Role Overview:
The Director of Inventory Management will lead global inventory operations across our pharmaceutical CDMO network, ensuring optimal material availability, regulatory compliance, and strategic alignment with our API manufacturing and emerging modality initiatives (e.g., peptides, oligonucleotides, bioconjugates). This role is pivotal in supporting commercial and clinical supply chains, driving digital transformation, and enabling scalability across global sites.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement global inventory strategies aligned with CDMO growth into new therapeutic modalities.
- Lead inventory planning for API manufacturing and new modality platforms, including biologics and advanced therapies.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for inventory accuracy, turnover, and service levels across sites.
- Oversee end-to-end inventory processes: receiving, warehousing, WIP control, cycle counting, and distribution.
- Implement and optimize ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for real-time inventory visibility and control.
- Lead discrepancy resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure inventory practices meet cGMP, FDA, EMA, DEA, and other global regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with QA/QC and Regulatory Affairs to support audits, inspections, and documentation.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, and R&D to align inventory strategies with production and development needs.
- Support tech transfers and scale-up activities by ensuring timely material availability and accurate inventory tracking.
- Build and mentor a high-performing inventory management team across global CDMO sites.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of inventory/supply chain experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Proven expertise in inventory systems, regulatory compliance, and CDMO operations.
- Experience supporting new modality platforms (e.g., peptides, ADCs, oligos) is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Salary Range : $175,000 - $275,000 annual base salary
