We’re looking for a highly organized, process-driven, hands-on Senior Production and Operations Manager with strong experience in food manufacturing, supply chain, and team leadership. This role oversees daily production output, labor management, inventory, procurement, fulfillment, and safety/compliance—ensuring our operations run efficiently, safely, and at scale.
We're a fast-scaling food/gifting manufacturer (sugar cubes, drink mixers, and kits sold in national retailers). We need someone who treats production like a business — hitting output, efficiency, and margin targets while building a strong, accountable team culture. What You’ll Do:
Food Production & Leadership
- Oversee all daily food manufacturing operations (baking/confectionary experience a plus)
- Oversee all production outputs and ensure targets are met daily and weekly
- Troubleshoot production bottlenecks and implement workflow improvements
- Ensure all processes meet SQF and food safety standards
- Support QA with documentation, audits, training, and continuous improvement
- Manage operations budget including labor, raw materials, maintenance, and overhead.
Process, SOPs & Efficiency
- Manage operations budget including labor, raw materials, maintenance, and overhead.
- Support COGS optimization, margin improvement, and forecasting.
- Create and maintain SOPs across manufacturing, production, inventory, ordering, and fulfillment
- Implement lean, scalable manufacturing, production, fulfillment, and QC systems to support growth
- Track and report daily KPIs and drive operational performance
Supply Chain & Vendor Management
- Oversee procurement of raw materials, packaging, and supplies/ purchasing
- Oversee ordering, vendor relationships, and pricing negotiations
- Forecast material needs and maintain cost-effective sourcing strategies
- Evaluate and manage supplier performance
- Use digital platforms including EDI, CRM, and Microsoft Suite
Inventory, Procurement & Fulfillment
- Manage inventory accuracy, receiving, cycle counts, and lot tracking
- Ensure accurate digital inventory records, lot tracking, cycle counts, and reconciliation.
- Manage material consumption reporting, WIP tracking, and finished goods accuracy.
- Create and enforce min/max inventory levels for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
- Oversee fulfillment workflows to ensure timely, accurate order processing
- Optimize warehouse layout, flow, and safety
- Streamline workflows through technology and system improvements
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years in operations leadership, including food manufacturing
- Strong experience with supply chain, procurement, vendor management, and negotiation
- Hands-on ERP experience (Fishbowl preferred)
- Familiarity with EDI systems
- Excellent communicator and team leader
- Ability to create, implement and enforce SOPs
- Comfortable lifting heavy boxes (typically 40–50 lbs)
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite
Preferred:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Experience in baking or confectionary production
- Lean/Six Sigma or similar process improvement training
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Food Science, or related field
- Experience with ERPs, Fishbowl specifically
