SUMMARY
The Procurement and Sourcing Manager will lead the execution of sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier lifecycle management services for the entire organization, including direct or indirect categories such as Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Marketing or Professional Services. This role collaborates with all departments, Finance (FP&A, Legal), Payables/Operational Accounting to deliver strategic initiatives that drive value and efficiency while ensuring compliance with Genetix' procurement policies, standards and budget.
This is a full-time hybrid position (3 days a week) in our Somerville – Assembly Row, Massachusetts office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sourcing, strategy execution and purchase management: Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with business requirements and stakeholder priorities, delivering measurable benefits across cost, quality, service, and innovation.
- Develop improved purchase requisition processes and procedural requirements and control the process to issue purchase orders, confirm alignment with budget and classification of costs
- Request bids from suppliers as needed
- Contract Management: Execute and ensure linkage of end-to-end sourcing and contracting processes, ensuring compliance with company policies, legal standards, and ethical practices.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders and suppliers, ensuring alignment and timely resolution of escalations.
- Procurement Operations: Collaborate with Payables Manager on resolving invoicing and PO limit issues with cost owners and suppliers if necessary
- Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure procurement processes, policies, systems, and methodologies are utilized in a compliant and ethical manner while driving consistency and continual improvement across operations.
- Project Management and Reporting: Support the delivery of savings targets and other KPIs aligned with business goals, providing regular updates and insights to stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in leading end-to-end source-to-contract projects within global corporate environments
- Experience in procurement, commercial negotiations, and contracting, within indirect categories
- Experience with procurement tools (Oracle, NetSuite-related) or sourcing execution technologies. Demonstrated ability to work on diverse projects simultaneously, requiring detailed analysis, creative/practical problem solving, time management, and sound judgment
- Pharmaceutical, Healthcare or Life Sciences industry experience preferable
- Ability to self-motivate while operating effectively in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills
- A collaborative mindset, fostering teamwork and inclusive decision-making
- Commitment to ethical and responsible business practices
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Experience with system integrations and implementations is a plus
