Providing skilled nursing care within an elementary school setting offers a unique opportunity to support students' health and educational success. We are currently seeking licensed Registered Nurses (RN) or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses (LPN/LVN) with specialized experience in pediatric care to serve on a contract basis throughout the current school year (CSY) in Pittsburgh, PA.
Key Qualifications:
- Licensed as RN or LPN/LVN with valid credentials
- Experience with tracheostomy, ventilator, and G-tube care
- Proficient in managing diabetic care for Type 1 students
- Prior pediatric or school nursing experience preferred
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering individualized nursing care primarily within the school's health office
- Providing 1:1 care as required for students with complex medical needs
- Monitoring and managing respiratory equipment and feeding devices
- Administering insulin and managing diabetic protocols appropriately
- Collaborating with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care
- Maintaining accurate health records and documenting interventions per school policies
Schedule and Location:
- Position located in an elementary school in Pittsburgh, PA
- Coverage primarily Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with potential for full-week assignment to ensure consistency
