About The Position
The Continuous Improvement Manager leads our efforts in optimizing packaging processes, materials, and skills. This role is crucial for enhancing product protection, improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, reducing waste, and advancing our business growth goals.
SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm with flexibility, and weekends and later hours may be needed depending on needs of the company.
WAGE: Salary range for this position is $105,000.00 - $120,000.00 annually, subject to all required taxes and withholdings.
Primary Responsibilities
- Process Optimization and Efficiency:- Analyze current operations to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance line speed, reduce material waste, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Lead continuous improvement projects using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to streamline workflows.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on packaging / processing equipment, processes, and best practices.
- Material and Cost Management:
- Conduct feasibility studies and performance testing on new packaging concepts, materials, and machinery.
- Sustainability and Compliance:
- Lead initiatives to reduce our environmental footprint by implementing sustainable packaging solutions 
- Ensure all processes comply with relevant industry standards, safety and food safety regulations, and customer-specific requirements.
 
 
 
- Project and Team Management:- Conceptualize, justify and execute continuous improvement projects.
- Mentor and collaborate with a team of operators and mechanics, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. 
- Provide regular reports and presentations to senior management on project status, key metrics, and strategic recommendations.
 
- Other Functions- Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
 
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Preferred Certified Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
- 5+ years of experience in engineering, or continuous improvement role within a food manufacturing or consumer goods environment, preferably with exposure to packaging equipment or automated systems.
- Proven experience in leading and managing technical projects from concept through to implementation.
- Relevant experience in food processing and manufacturing.
- Understanding of all functions of operations (R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, & Manufacturing).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in CAD software and project management tools.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Action-oriented, results-focused individual who holds people accountable to the process, with a "can-do" attitude.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects, including scaling products from concept to commercialization.
- Detail oriented and follow-through.
- Well organized: able to set priorities/goals and maintain focus and follow through on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to plan and manage projects to effectively complete and execute new programs as required.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Microsoft Office computer software applications at a medium to expert user level.

Work environment is that of an office environment. This employee regularly works with office equipment, materials, chemicals, wet floors and with wet equipment when on the production floor. This employee work around high voltage, hot water, and steam
- Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Physical work includes climbing stairs, etc.
- Willing to work in a various-temperature environment
- Ability to handle items under 25lbs or may need to move objects safely and with proper body mechanics. 
- Ability to frequently talk, hear, and smell
- Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus
