Job Description:
The Inventory & Production Planner is responsible for overseeing inventory accuracy and supporting daily production planning activities across manufacturing, kitting and device assembly operations. This role will manage inventory transactions between internal systems and third-party logistics (3PL) providers, ensure timely and accurate inventory adjustments, and drive continuous improvement in material control processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to balance both tactical execution and planning responsibilities in a fast-paced medical manufacturing environment. This position is based at our corporate headquarters in Seattle.
Responsibilities:
Inventory Management
- Oversee daily inventory transactions and reconciliation between internal ERP/MRP systems and 3PL systems
- Perform and document daily inventory adjustments to maintain accurate stock levels
- Lead and coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counting programs
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, working cross-functionally with warehouse, production, and quality teams
- Maintain item master data, BOM accuracy, and part movement documentation
Production Planning
- Develop and maintain production schedules for kitting and device assembly operations based on demand forecasts, open orders, and material availability
- Coordinate with procurement, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure material readiness and production flow
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet delivery and service goals.
- Monitor and track production deliveries from manufacturing
- Assist in capacity planning and resource allocation to support production targets
- Communicate production plans, priorities, and changes to all relevant stakeholders
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and production efficiency
- Support system and process integrations between internal systems and external logistics partners
- Develop and maintain inventory and production KPIs, providing regular reporting to management
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Operations, Business, or related field or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in inventory control, production planning, or supply chain operations, preferably in a manufacturing or medical device environment
- Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems and 3PL inventory processes
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis, warehouse management systems experience, Fishbowl is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
- A self-starter with attention to detail and committed to timeline deliveries
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively
