Job Summary:
The Plant Foreman is responsible for leading daily operations in our steel manufacturing facility. This includes supervising production teams, ensuring quality, maintaining safety standards, and coordinating workflow. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, proven supervisory experience, and the ability to keep production running smoothly, efficiently, and safely.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, train, and mentor welders, machine operators, material handlers, and painters. Assign daily tasks and ensure production schedules are met.
- Monitor production workflow to maximize efficiency and minimize waste. Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
- Implement and enforce strict quality control standards; inspect finished products to ensure they meet customer and engineering requirements.
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety. Conduct safety meetings and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
- Coordinate with maintenance to keep equipment in good working order.
- Track raw material inventory and coordinate with purchasing to maintain supply levels.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, quality checks, and maintenance logs.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
- Report accidents, unsafe conditions, or hazards promptly.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production and departmental goals.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and codes of conduct.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3–5 years in a supervisory or leadership role in a manufacturing/industrial environment, with at least 5 years in steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
- Education: Degree/diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of welding, fabrication, and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with equipment such as saws, welders, presses, and cranes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Solid understanding of OSHA safety regulations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
