Clinical Patient Access Phone Representative in our

The Clinical Patient Access Phone Representative is responsible for answering incoming calls, providing results, relaying information between the provider and the patient and from the patient to the provider, and to schedule appropriate follow up appointments and surgeries, pre op/post op. In addition, assisting in office with patients (suture removals, light therapy, patch testing application, and so on). The individual must portray confidence, while promoting a friendly, knowledgeable environment for patients, staff and providers as well as be comfortable having conversations with patients about medications, test results, wound care, etc.
Schedule: 36 hours/week
Monday - Thursday 7:15am-4:30pm
Friday 7:15am-12:00pm

Responsibilities
- Answer phone in a timely and polite manner.
- Take accurate notes and relay the message to the appropriate provider/person.
- Maintain accurate logs.
- Become very knowledgeable about Dermatology and be able to explain:
- Wound care
- Dermatologic diseases
- Dermatologic procedures
- Dermatologic prescriptions
- Accurately schedule appointments for:
- Mohs surgery
- Excisions
- ED&C
- Follow-Up
- Recalls
- Ability to provide instructions for any scheduled procedures, including pre-op and post-op care.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Minimum post high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse. LPN preferred.
- Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses, and/or registrations to continue employment.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Dermatology background required
- 1 year of recent medical office experience in a similar capacity is preferred.
- Must attend mandatory meetings, which include but are not limited to, Customer Services and Staff Meetings.
- Proficient in basic computer functions.
- Must be able to understand and spell Dermatologic medical terms and prescriptions.
- Must possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm is preferred.
- Must possess attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.
- Ability to respond positively to constructive criticism and direction from supervisors.
- Must demonstrate professional appearance and manner at all times.
- Must display a friendly, cheerful, tactful, and polite demeanor, and must be compassionate and caring in dealing with others.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
