Our goal is to extend the life and improve the performance of existing boilers. To support this goal, our manufacturing site, Boiler Tube of America (BTA) manufactures pressure boiler components and auxiliary industrial boiler parts for the power generation industry. We are currently seeking a Director of Manufacturing for our location in Lyman, SC. This is a great opportunity to lead the manufacturing operations of a highly reputable company with a great team.
The Director of Manufacturing is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the manufacturing plant, including production, maintenance, quality, and safety. This role ensures the plant runs efficiently, meets production goals, and complies with company standards and regulatory requirements. The Director of Manufacturing provides leadership to supervisors and staff, drives continuous improvement, and promotes a culture of accountability and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Direct and manage all shop floor operations including production, scheduling, and maintenance.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to optimize productivity, efficiency, and cost savings.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to meet production goals.
- Lead, coach, and develop shop supervisors and production staff to enhance skills and performance.
- Oversee equipment maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure operational readiness.
- Partner with engineering, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of materials and smooth workflow.
- Coordinate operations with Quality Control as required to meet internal and external job requirements.
- Drive manufacturing, continuous improvement, and process optimization initiatives.
- Manage departmental budgets, control costs, and forecast labor and material needs.
Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8–10 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a director or senior management role.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and safety compliance.
- Experience leading strategy and operations in a pressure parts manufacturing environment preferred.
