WET (Design)
Assembly Production Manager
North Hollywood, California
At
WET (Design), we transform the elements—water, fire, ice, fog, and light—into breathtaking, multi-sensory installations renowned worldwide. From the Fountains of Bellagio to the awe-inspiring Dubai Fountain, our work merges art, science, and advanced engineering to captivate millions.
Our creations are not just static features—they are
dynamic assemblies, each integrating 5,000 to 9,000 precision-engineered parts, systems, and control components. As we continue to innovate, we’re seeking a technical and driven Assembly Production Manager to orchestrate the teams responsible for building the world’s most complex and visually stunning water features.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and empower a team of 40+ technical assemblers as they construct, test, and deliver highly dynamic, multi-thousand-part systems—blending mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control elements
- Own all aspects of the assembly floor: operating at the intersection of engineering, rapid prototyping, lean production, and world-class quality assurance
- Collaborate deeply with Design, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to drive industrialization and manufacturability of new and custom installations
- Create a Visual Factory environment—using live production dashboards, standardized work, and clear workflow to manage high-mix, high-complexity builds
- Drive a culture of technical excellence, root-cause problem-solving, and continuous improvement; facilitate Kaizen and A3 sessions to optimize processes for complex, large-scale assemblies
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and Theory of Constraints (TOC) to maximize throughput, eliminate bottlenecks, and ensure flawless execution on enormous BOMs
- Oversee precise interpretation and actioning of intricate engineering drawings, detailed work instructions, and component-level documentation—ensuring unerring accuracy with every assembly
- Manage rapid iteration, technical feasibility, and integration of late-stage design changes during dynamic project timelines
- Set, track, and achieve exceptional standards in on-time delivery, quality, and team performance in an environment defined by pace, precision, and complexity
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 7+ years’ experience managing large teams in a high-complexity, high-mix assembly environment (e.g., large capital equipment, special effects, advanced robotics, aerospace, or automotive prototype)
- Demonstrated proficiency in scaled assembly of systems with thousands of parts, moving interfaces, and multi-disciplinary integration
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (A3, Kaizen, VSM); TOC expertise highly preferred
- High technical fluency: able to interpret complex technical drawings, redlines, multi-level BOMs, and technical engineering documentation
- Proven success in production planning, resource allocation, and process optimization for custom, high-volume assembly
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills; experience with live performance metrics and continuous monitoring tools
- Track record of cross-functional collaboration with engineering, quality, and supply chain in a fast-evolving environment
- Rigor in compliance with industry safety, quality, and documentation standards
- Hands-on, floor-engaged leadership style—comfortable solving technical problems in real time with your team
Who Thrives Here
- Leaders with genuine passion for building dynamic, visually ambitious, multi-thousand-part systems
- Mentors who can develop the technical and personal capability of teams through high-growth, high-change cycles
- Operators who perform best in settings where engineering precision meets creative ambition, and where every day brings a new challenge to tackle
