CSG is pleased to be supporting an innovative U.S.-based lithium battery manufacturer is seeking a VP of Operations to lead the next phase of its production scale-up. The company specialises in high-performance lithium-ion cells and solutions for mission-critical applications, including defence, aerospace, eVTOL and high performance electronics.
With a patented technology platform and a growing customer base, the company is in the process of expanding its manufacturing facility to meet increasing demand. This role presents an exceptional opportunity to take ownership of end-to-end operations at a critical inflection point in the company's growth.
Responsibilities:
Lead all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production, quality, supply chain, inventory, procurement, and EH&S.
Oversee a growing team of operators, supervisors, and engineers, including multi-shift scheduling and workforce planning.
Ensure strict compliance with OSHA, labor laws, and hazardous material handling protocols.
Drive cost efficiency, material productivity, and continuous improvement across people and processes.
Implement scalable systems for production planning, training, quality control, inventory management, and reporting.
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across Sales, Engineering, and Business Development to ensure operational alignment with customer delivery targets.
Support the commissioning and optimization of pilot lines and mega-line operations.
Build and report on key KPIs around safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC).
Lead ERP system implementation and reporting (SAP BONE or Oracle Netsuite preferred).
Qualifications:
10-15+ years of senior leadership experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in batteries, semiconductors, or complex electronics.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.
Demonstrated success in scaling production, managing facility expansions, and leading cross-functional operations teams.
Strong background in OSHA compliance, labor management, hazardous materials, and EH&S oversight.
Results-driven, metrics-focused leader with hands-on experience in lean manufacturing, cost control, and continuous improvement.
Familiarity with ERP systems, manufacturing dashboards, and performance reporting tools.
