Members Trust Federal Credit Union has been serving members since 1936. Our vision centers on making financial success a reality, one member at a time. We currently have $250M in assets with two branches located in Houston and Stephenville, Texas. We are looking to fill our VP of Operations position with someone who is ready to grow with us as we continue to meet the financial needs of our current members and future members.
Role:
To direct the delivery of services to members to achieve organizational sales goals, participate in development and implementation of organizational strategic plans, ensure the organization is in compliance with all regulations, with primary responsibility for identifying and communicating deposit related compliance requirements. Participate in the general management of the organization as a member of the Management Team.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Directs and monitors branch operations, through subordinate managers, to ensure they meet organizational goals and objectives. Monitors product delivery quality and takes action to resolve problems.
- Creates a high-performing, service-driven culture by developing staff through providing effective training, coaching, individual development plans and performance reviews.
- Establish effective communications and create a positive employer-employee relationship by recognizing staff through motivation, feedback, reinforcement of positive skills and identifying areas of improvement.
- Ensures adequate staffing levels are maintained within operational plans.
- Develop promotional strategies to increase utilization of Credit Union products and services among existing members while acquiring new ones.
- Actively participates in community, networking and other Credit Union sponsored events in order to retain current members and bring new business to the organization.
- Evaluates policies, procedures and programs to create operational efficiencies and creates new policies and procedures, as applicable.
- Serves as point of contact for escalated member issues with a goal of retaining membership and reducing organizational risk.
- Determines proper internal controls and ensures individual accountability of cash, checks and other negotiable instruments are handled in accordance with applicable rules and regulations. Oversees security and safety of all branches regarding cash operations.
- Ensures any operational failures are quickly identified and communicated to external and internal business partners to maintain system health and operational benefits.
- Ensure consistency of branch operations through auditing and monitoring branch policies, procedures and accountability measures.
- Serves as a point of contact for internal and external audits, as applicable.
- Stays abreast of branch operation-related developments, branch delivery channel technologies, practices, or regulatory requirements related to the Member Services department.
- Build and maintains third-party vendor relationships to maintain organizational workflow.
Performance Measurements:
- Meet or exceed operational objectives with respect to sales and financial objectives.
- Maintain a cohesive, highly trained and motivated staff, sufficient to meet the needs of the Credit Union.
- Monitor, report on and address trends in operations and deposit services.
- Provide informed, professional and accurate service and support to all members and associates.
- Provide support and resolution to staff as needed.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience
Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated financial institution/credit union experience on similar or related positions.
Education
A bachelor’s degree or a minimum of ten years of financial/credit union experience or Certifications related to Credit Unions.
Other Skills
Must have good communication and writing skills.
