Responsibilities
The Director, Material Management oversees the materials forecasting, planning, procurement and repairs management; including project management, strategy development, supplier collaboration & performance monitoring. Directs and manages the Material Operations team with overall responsibilities for managing multi millions $ of inventory capital and expense which supports all parts required for the maintenance of Spirits aircraft, engines and components. Directs teams responsible for material Planning & Allocations, Repair & Warranty and Technical Purchasing which monitors parts service level performance supporting Tech Ops.
- Develops strategies, processes and systems to improve Material Allocations, Forecasting, Planning, Procurement, Warranty and Repair Management.
- Builds expertise supply chain expertise through personnel recruitment, mentoring and development.
- Leads process, procedure and technology improvements which support and continuously improve material management processes.
- Oversees the materials forecasting, planning, parts procurement and repairs management.
- Develops and leads departmental strategy, initiatives, projects and metrics.
- Collaborates with suppliers on material requirements, quality, reliability and performance monitoring. Also work closely with Spirit Strategic Sourcing Team on contract terms to meet quality, total cost of ownership, and performance targets.
- Builds cross-divisional relationships (Stores, Tech Ops, Engineering, Operations, Finance) and builds consensus which balances operational parts support with financial capital and operating budget, providing the right part at the right place at the right time at the right cost.
- Communicates, liaises, and influences internally and with suppliers using appropriate methods to influence decisions and performance which facilitates excellent internal parts support at the lowest total cost of ownership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree - Business, Finance, Logistics or Supply Chain focus; MBA Preferred
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain
- Leads Teams and provides direction for Inventory Planning Forecasting & Allocations, Repairs, Warranty, Technical Purchasing, Supply Chain Analytics, Metrics; monitors parts service level performance supporting Tech Ops, develops & monitors budget, establishes and tracks departmental metrics.

- Leads technology improvements required to support and continuously improve material management processes

- Domestic and International travel 25% ot time
- Exert up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those of Sedentary work. Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
