Overview:
My client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Supply Chain & Logistics to lead and optimize our end-to-end supply chain operations. This executive leader will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives across procurement, planning, and logistics, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and operational excellence. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record of improving supply performance, reducing risk, and building agile, scalable systems to support a growing multi-channel manufacturing and distribution business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute comprehensive supply chain strategies aligned with corporate objectives across procurement, logistics, planning, and inventory management. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to drive cost savings, efficiency, and resilience.
- Procurement & Vendor Management:
- Oversee procurement strategy, contract negotiation, and vendor relationships, ensuring optimal pricing, quality, risk mitigation, and continuity of supply for raw materials, packaging, and capital assets.
- Planning & Forecasting:
- Lead demand planning, forecasting, and S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) to support accurate production scheduling and inventory optimization. Collaborate with commercial teams to align customer demand with operational capabilities.
- Logistics & Distribution:
- Ensure high-performing logistics operations that support on-time delivery and efficient distribution. Monitor transportation performance, warehouse management, and cold chain logistics as applicable.
- Systems & Technology:
- Lead the implementation and integration of ERP, MRP, and supply chain systems to enable data-driven decision-making and real-time visibility across operations.
- Risk Management & Compliance:
- Implement robust supply risk mitigation strategies, including supplier diversification, alternative sourcing, and regulatory compliance across U.S., Mexico, and international markets.
- Team Development:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team across planning, procurement, and logistics functions. Foster a culture of accountability, agility, and continuous improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with executive leadership, operations, finance, sales, and quality teams to support business goals, improve service levels, and ensure manufacturing and delivery commitments are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- 10–15 years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain, planning, and logistics within a manufacturing or consumer goods environment; food & beverage industry experience strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of procurement, forecasting, inventory control, logistics, and ERP/MRP systems.
- Demonstrated success managing complex supplier networks, contract negotiations, and compliance in a multi-site, multi-region environment.
- APICS, CPIM, or other supply chain certifications preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving business environment with strong problem-solving capabilities and a hands-on leadership style.
