Job Summary:
The Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the planning and scheduling of raw material procurement to support production in the oil and gas industry. This role ensures that materials are available in the right quantity, at the right time, and at optimal cost while minimizing inventory risks and aligning with production demand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Planning & Forecasting
- Develop and maintain accurate forecasts for raw material needs based on production schedules and project timelines.
- Supply Chain Coordination
- Collaborate with procurement, logistics, planning and customer service teams to align material availability with operational needs.
- Ensure raw materials meet technical specifications and quality standards.
- Inventory Management
- Process Improvement
- Maintain optimal inventory levels by implementing efficient stock control systems.
- Identify surplus, shortages, and obsolete materials, proposing corrective actions.
- Vendor & Supplier Management
- Liaise with key suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials.
- Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts to reduce costs and improve reliability.
- Data Analysis & Reporting
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in Supply Planning, Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in manufacturing planning, supply chain management and customer service.
- Proven track record in strategic planning, process improvement, and leadership roles.
- Experience in S&OP management, scenario modeling, developing statistically based forecasts, and building data models with large data sets
