Greenberg-Larraby, Inc. (GLI) is looking for a dedicated Medical Records Technician to join our medical facility in Memphis. In this key role, you will be responsible for managing patient medical records, ensuring that they are accurate, up-to-date, and comply with all regulatory standards. Your attention to detail and knowledge of medical terminology will significantly contribute to the quality of patient care we provide.
We are hiring for multiple Medical Records Technician roles, including Coding and Release of Information (ROI). Candidates with HIM or medical records experience are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- For Coding Roles:
- Review and analyze medical documentation to assign accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT codes.
- Ensure compliance with national coding guidelines and healthcare documentation standards.
- Maintain accuracy and completeness of coded data for billing, reporting, and audit purposes.
- Communicate with clinical staff when documentation clarification is needed.
- Meet established productivity and quality standards within the medical records department.
- For Release of Information (ROI) Roles:
- Process requests for the release of patient medical information in accordance with HIPAA and privacy regulations.
- Verify authorizations and ensure proper documentation prior to disclosure.
- Retrieve, review, and prepare medical records for release to authorized parties.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in medical records, health information management, coding, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA, and healthcare documentation standards.
- Proficiency using EHR/EMR systems and electronic documentation tools.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with clinicians, staff, and external requestors.
- Certification such as RHIT, CPC, CCS, CCS-P, or equivalent (preferred, not required).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with coding systems (ICD-10, CPT)
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance regulations
- High School Diploma or higher required
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
