JOB SUMMARY
QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
Minimum of one (1) year nursing service administration experience.
Must possess current CPR certificate.
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, personnel, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and willingness to work harmoniously with personnel.
Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of the position can be fully met.
Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, visitors, personnel, and support agencies.
Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, young, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people.
May be required to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc., throughout the day.
Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc. including exposure to the (HIV) Aids and Hepatitis B viruses.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for collaborating with members of the Interdisciplinary Team to
ensure accurate completion of nursing documentation on a ongoing basis including but not limited to:
Dashboard clearing
POC compliance
Dietary recommendations carried out
Pharmacy recommendations carried out
Tracking surveillance antibiotic usage and resolving diagnoses for infections and updating care plans
Coordination of documents for scheduling appointments
Assure all Nursing procedures and protocols are followed in accordance with
established policies
Make daily rounds to ensure nursing personnel are performing required duties
and to ensure that appropriate procedures are being followed.
Notify appropriate Department Heads regarding immediate concerns,
communicate all other concerns to the Administrator.
Ensure all PCC documentation is being completed by nursing, and POC documentation completed by CNAs.
Monitor and supervise all staff on duty.
Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules to ensure medications are being administered as ordered and treatments are provided as scheduled
Perform other related duties as assigned.
