Sapphire Recruitment is seeking an experienced Vice President of Manufacturing for a rapidly growing, vertically integrated manufacturer, in the Binghamton area, with advanced machining and precision molding capabilities. This is a key leadership role driving operational excellence, expansion, and long-term strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all manufacturing operations, including production, scheduling, resource planning, maintenance, and on-time delivery
- Manage full plant P&L: budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and profitability
- Lead capacity expansion, equipment upgrades, and other growth initiatives
- Improve core KPIs such as OEE, scrap, cycle time, machine uptime, labor efficiency, and delivery performance
- Develop and mentor the manufacturing team, strengthening internal leadership
- Implement Lean and continuous improvement practices (5S, SMED, Kaizen, RCA, VSM)
- Partner with Engineering on mold performance, process optimization, new product launches, and tooling
- Collaborate with Ownership on strategic planning, capital investments, and long-term growth
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 10+ years of manufacturing experience, including 5+ years in leadership (injection molding or plastics strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated P&L ownership and success scaling operations
- Strong floor presence with excellent problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Lean, CI, and safety leadership
