Vaco is partnering with a top asphalt/pavement company based in Phoenix, AZ, to find a VP of Operations to join their team. This VP of Operations manages daily operations, job finances, supply chain and logistics, quality control, team performance, and customer relationships. This role works closely with senior leaders to meet business goals and promote strong operations across the company. This position requires you to be both in the field and in office, is open for relocation, and is paying $250,000-$300,000 per year depending on experince.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:- Support the President in creating and carrying out a local business development plan that aligns with PPG's growth goals.
- Find, pursue, and secure new work with municipal, state, federal, and private-sector clients.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
- Take part in bid reviews, pricing decisions, and proposal preparation to ensure competitive and profitable bids.
- Track market trends and competitor activity to adjust strategies and stay ahead in the market.
- Lead all field operations, including daily project activities, crew scheduling, equipment usage, and subcontractor management.
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity on every job site.
- Oversee project planning, resource management, logistics, and equipment upkeep.
- Support foremen and superintendents by helping resolve field issues and promoting strong team morale.
- Review project performance and implement improvements when needed.
Our preferred qualifications:- 10+ years in Asphalt/Pavement experience
- 5+ years in leadership of Asphalt/Pavement experience
