Job Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- The Clinic Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing services to patients in an outpatient setting.
- This role performs nursing assessments in providing direct and indirect patient care, provides health advice, patient and family education, and may handle phone triage.
- Provides detailed evaluation of patient symptoms to determine urgency of situation, facilitates next steps in patient care, and provides medical advice on treating symptoms.
- Utilizes the nursing process based on research and evidence-based outcomes to meet patient care needs.
- Administers medications, collects specimen, and performs nursing procedures within scope of practice.
- Documents all nursing services provided.
- Collaborates with other members of the health care team to ensure the delivery of quality patient care and when facing ethical or legal issues.
- Facilitates appropriate utilization of healthcare resources.
- Enhances the patient experience.
- Provides services in compliance with all applicable regulatory and professional standards, including the California Nurse Practice Act.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Required:
- Successful completion of a nursing program
- Basic keyboarding skills basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel
Preferred
- One (1) year clinical nursing experience preferably in an ambulatory care setting
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing
- Knowledge of registration and order entry systems
- Knowledge of patient scheduling and insurance verification and authorization
License Required
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in good standing in the State of California
