This position operates on a Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM schedule. The role of the Mechanical Engineer is to provide support in the design, development, and testing of heat exchanger coils manufactured by Turbotec. In support of the primary mission, the Mechanical Engineer must program and maintain various computer programs to analyze laboratory data, develop correlations, and predict performance based on correlation and simulation software. Ancillary skills may be required to design laboratory equipment, specify prototypes, and program data acquisition equipment. This position reports to the Manager of Engineering.
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Supports the product line from initial concept through production
· Specifies laboratory testing required to develop heat transfer and pressure drop correlations pertinent to product design.
· Analyzes laboratory data to develop necessary correlations. Develops and/or maintains necessary data analysis programs.
· Uses design data and correlations to develop new products.
· Develops and maintains predictive performance programs for use by Sales and customers.
· Analyzes the risks of a new design or process and communicates results to the project team and Engineering.
· Provides support to manufacturing to ensure the product is fabricated and assembled based on the intended functionality of the design.
· Develops and maintains procedures and processes that support internal product technologies.
· Interfaces with others in the organization and customers to jointly determine customer needs and solutions.
· Assists in laboratory equipment design, construction, maintenance, and upgrades.
· Provide technical/application assistance to Sales and Marketing, including assistance to customers in the mechanical and thermal integration of Turbotec products into customer systems.
In pursuing these responsibilities, the Product Design Engineer will interface with the Engineering department staff, other departments within Turbotec, customers, and potential customers.

Required Education and Preferred Experience
Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year College or University, or two to three years of related experience in the design of HVAC equipment preferred.
