Description
The Ward Clerk plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the nursing home, ensuring efficient administrative processes and facilitating communication among staff, residents, and families. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to care.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support:
- Perform clerical duties including data entry, filing, and maintaining resident records.
- Manage appointment scheduling for residents, including medical appointments and activities.
- Coordinate communication between nursing staff, healthcare providers, and families.
Communication
- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors and incoming calls, providing information and assistance as needed.
- Relay messages and updates to nursing staff and management regarding resident care and concerns.
Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident logs, charts, and other documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Handle confidential medical and personal information with discretion and integrity.
Patient Interaction
- Assist residents and families with inquiries and concerns, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Support nursing staff in fostering positive relationships with residents.
Scheduling And Coordination
- Organize and maintain the daily schedule for nursing staff, ensuring adequate coverage and support for resident needs.
- Assist in coordinating training and orientation for new staff members.
Inventory Management
- Monitor and order office supplies and medical forms as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the ward.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the office and common areas.
